The Nehemiah Project was organized in 1996 as a not-for-profit corporation in the State of Wisconsin. Youth work is the primary focus. In 2002, the organization acquired two group homes for youth, ages 13-18. Cramer House, located on Milwaukee's east side, has been serving as a group home since 1991. Nehemiah House, located on Milwaukee's near west side, has been a group home since 1978. In addition, the organization operates programs that encourage interracial dialogue, forgiveness, youth leadership development and parent support.
